The American Revolution had far-reaching effects on the Setauket community, and the Jayne family felt those impacts deeply. This commemorative tour of the Sherwood-Jayne Farm will explore the Loyalist experience on Long Island, highlight the divided loyalties within the Jayne family, and trace their reintegration into the Setauket community as the new nation took shape. Participants will also learn about the Jayne's family's unexpected connections to members of GeorgeWashington’s Culper Spy Ring. Join us for a nuanced look at how the American Revolution reshaped the lives of ordinary families and the communities they called home.
