Agreement of Terms & Conditions of Use

Permission is for one-time only. Any subsequent use constitutes reuse and must be applied for in writing.
In authorizing the reproduction of an image, Preservation Long Island (PLI) does not surrender its own right to publish it, nor to grant permission to others to do so.
Permission is valid only for the individual, company, or institution to whom it is specifically issued and may not be transferred, assigned, sold, or otherwise disposed of without written permission of PLI.
The statement “Preservation Long Island” must appear within the simultaneously visible context of the authorized image(s) and, wherever possible, placed adjacent to it.
Images must be reproduced accurately, without any alteration or enhancement, unless otherwise approved by PLI. Any detailed image must be labeled “detail”.
Permission to use must not be construed to imply that PLI either endorses or promotes the product in which a reproduction of the authorized image is published.
PLI may request to review print or digital proofs prior to publication.
PLI can grant permission only to the extent of its ownership of the rights relating to the request. Certain objects in the collection of PLI may be protected by copyright, publication rights, or related interests that are not owned by PLI, which hereby expressly states that it is not granting permission to exploit such rights. Applicants assume all responsibility for questions of copyright and invasion of privacy that may arise in copying and using the materials.
Upon publication, PLI will be provided with a complimentary copy of the publication in which the image(s) is reproduced.
Any breach of the terms of this Agreement, including failure to pay any required fees, will render the permission granted herein void.
